Hey,

Okay, yesterday I noticed one of my Platys kept flicking herself and sort of rubbing on the leaves of plants. I was slightly concerned so was looking it up and saw various diseases that this could be a symptom of although I have no idea about that sort of thing. Today I saw a male doing it as well. Is this a bad sign or can it mean something harmless too? Should I be buying some form of treatment? I can see no other signs of anything such as spots or injuries, they look healthy.

Any advice is appreciated,

Thanks.

How often do you perform water changes?
What are your water stats?
How long has your tank been running?
Have you seen them poo?
Do they look skinnier then normal??

Although it is now fully cycled it is still a relatively new tank, about 2 months old and so the fish have been in a couple of weeks. All reading have been good, today showed Ammonia 0, Nitrite 0 and Nitrate around 10 - 20. I performed a water change today and have been doing them quite often, about twice a week but only fairly small ones about 20% a time. I was doing twice a week because I had a strange raise in nitrates since cycling which was unexplained and has since sorted itself out.
None of them look any skinnier than normal but no I haven't seen either of those two poo today but then I haven't been looking out for it either.

Hope this helps.
