Leaf Problem

Hi all,
has anyone got any advice please as i am loosing plants. The problem seems to be a thin black thread like algie growing off the leaves of the plants. The fish dont seem to like it and it looks very unsightly. Last week i got rid of all the infected plants, re stocked, but today i see that it is starting to grow back again. What should i do??.

Can you tell us more about your tank?

Size
Light levels
Lighting period (how ling your lights are on for)
How many and what type of plants?
Any fertiliser being added?
