I bought two plecs to clean my tank, but one just site around doing nothing, and the other won't leave the side of my Biolife filter. It's as thought it's stuck to it.

Is this normal behavior ? I would hope not........

I've had them since friday - so just a day - are they just sulking after being moved or should I be worried ? I have 10 Tiger Barbs in with them.

Nick.

What type of plecs are they?

Plecs are nocturnal, so you wont generally seem to do much during the day, and at night it will be too dark to see them.

..Or months!

And remember, some plecs just aren't active fish!

If you want to see more behaviour from your fish get a nigh light (can be made from LEDs or if your tank is big, a minature blue flouro tube, or cold cathode light.

Commons become more active as they are older. Just remember, don't overfeed, if you do your plec will become lazy and boring. A Hungry plec is an active plec!

Mine are exactly the same, On sticks to the back of the tank and one sticks its self the the side of the filter, If i sit long enough and watch them one of them does start to feed on the bottom but I can imagine they are most active at night when it is dark and quiet

Thanks for the help........perhaps if I bought some crabs they'd buck their ideas up a bit !
