Lava Rock With Betta?

Would lava rock be ok in a tank with a betta in?

Mmmmmm, this is just vague and off the top of my head, but I think lava rock can damage your betta, and it's not very easy to sand down. I've never heard of people putting lava rock in their tank though, and it could be for that reason.

i currently have a betta with a lava rock in the tank, his bottom fin appears to have small pieces missing, its very hard to notice but its there

i would say its not the best idea, i am gonna take mine out soon

he has been in there for about 2 months and nothing major has happened yet, but it could

That looks very rough, I'd say no. Bettas love to squeeze past, through or under things and rough surfaces can easily rip fins.
