Gorgeous pair

Look forward to seeing the babies, should be stunning

Great pic of the eggs in the nest :snap:

Wowwwwwwwwww.... They're so gorgeous. I'm jealous of your DT. I really am. Mine are pretty, but yours is just...wow.

Babies should comes out this morning. Half of the eggs that is unfertilized are eaten by the male and he is doing pretty good checking each egg so far. Nice bubbles he made. I hope all the babies are doubletail. :p

This is how I setup my tank now. LOL :p

oooh fingers crossed for the babies

I was looking at your spawning tank and it looks very bare to me, not much room for the female to hide. Do you have better sucess this way? When I've set one up I've usually put more plants in as I fear for the poor female not being able to get away from the male :-(

I find the spawning thing very brutal at times, but I guess the fish know what they are doing and its natural to them :dunno:

Well, I have no problems with 5 gallon tank. Everytime they breed good. The female got no place to hit so she had to co-operate with the male and lay her eggs quick. LOL For this batch, the female laid all her eggs because she want it so badly to breed with him.
As long as you put them side by side for at least a week in saperated tank, then it will have no problems. I used to not put any plant at all but I got some plants from aquabid recently. So I add some to make it more beautiful and decorative but the female is smart. Actually I took out the plant later on because the female is playing hit and seat with the male in the plant. You know halfmoon, they can't swim well like the female.

Hmmm food for thought there with less cover so she has to co-operate and get down to business

Sounds like a good idea to me, thanks Yeevia :)

Good news. I woke up just now and I saw babies fries swimming up and down. The father is working very hard. Yeah, another success and hope all doubletail. LOL
Jody, yup, always work for me and also the male halfmoon tail won't get torn by the plant. Makesure you let them be side by side in their own container for at least a week to let them seeing each other before pairing. :D

*gasp* Betta Porn! :*)

Best of luck on your new spawn! they look like a lovely pair, can not wait to see how the wittle babies turn out!

That male is amazing, so you're going DT to DT huh? I've been wondering about that for awhile now. Can't wait to see the fry :hyper:

EDIT~ that embracing pic

Oh yeah Kelly, doubletail to doubletail. The Thailand breeder Boontiang sellected the pair for me an they are sibling. I heard that doubletail cross with doubletail will get deformed babies but the thailand breeder said not his betta. So we all going to see how this batch turn out. I am very curious after all. If great out come, I send you some for free since you gave me your doubletail plakat pair too. ;)
