Elegence corals are still on the CITES lists arent they? This means that only captive cultured ones are available and the price of these makes it out of reach formost hobbiests. Nice coral but way overpriced at the moment fromwhat i have seen and not due to beauty, just to greed. No saying they arent beautiful corals as they are, but for far cheaper you can get equally good looking ones.

Once they remove this Coral fromthe CITES list then i will look into getting one.

sorry, completly missed that, didn't know you wanted an ID on it. Its a devils hand/finger coral - Lobophytum sp, possably paunciflorum. Its simular to the one in the window tank but not the same. The one in the window is more of a finger leather such as sinularia sp.

I don't think it is on the CITES list, but I could be wrong. I purchased mine for a pretty decent price $80, and it is about 12" wide when inflated.

I don't know if availability is different in the UK vs the US, but liveaquaria has Elegance Corals from Indonesia for sale on their site. On their aquacultured corals, it specifically says aquacultured, but I didn't see that on the Elegance on their site. :dunno:

Here in the UK, they are very hard to get hold of, if not impossable. I'v never seen any at TMC and they never come up on the lists.
