Just thought i would share my latest aquisition with everyone, ive now finished my tank off nicely with 6 cardinal tetras and they are the first lot ive bought which so far dont appear to be diseased in any way shape or form.

And away you go!

Crap little video of them coming up soon when its done uploading to youtube.

EDIT: heres the video! Tank vid

They look lovely, if you have space for it get another 6. A 12 fish shoal would be lovely.

Yeah i would love to get another 6, just that ive got a dwarf gourami, an adult bristlenose pleco, 6 corydoras sterbai and and some shrimp and with the cardinals that puts me at about fully stocked if you follow said stocking guidelines, i know its only a guideline and theres been much debate about it and such and alot of people stock over it by alot but i guess the people who do it sucessfully are more experienced than myself, the tanks been running about 6 months now and thats also the amount of time ive kept fish for so it might be considered a bit risky to people on this forum.

Beautiful glow on those tetras! Anyway I'd take it slow with the stocking considering this is your first time. I've successfully *overstocked* larger 30 gallon tanks in my years of fishkeeping but it takes some experience to keep it in balance.

Yeah im new to fishkeeping but ive spent many hours doing reseach and ive gradually added fish to my tank over the past 6 months, also at the moment im running a second small filter in the tank which im cloning so i guess that helps and also i can add another one permanently if necessary. I will see how it goes with this batch and then maybe if the shop still has healthy ones i might add a few more in a few months, i have a spare 7 gallon also if any problems arise.

Very nice cardinals. :good: You could probably get away with a few more if they are added gradually. Cardinals are minimal waste producers, so 4-6 more won't make much of a difference, IMO. Any chance of seeing a full-tank shot?

Here is said requested tank shot, my photography skills are poor and its only a camera phone...ok excuses over.

Its not 100% finished waiting for the lotus to grow a bit more and might switch a few things about also, thinking of removing the statue now but my BN likes to suck on its back sometimes. My diy co2 mixture has decided not to work at the moment, not sure if ive made a nick in the tubing or whether my yeast has gone off, bought some new yeast today so will sort it out later.

This tank is really pretty, Mikster. I like the vallis. Yeah, I agree, I had a really stupid plastic cave in a 29g tank I had way back. It was an eyesore, but my kribs bred in it and wouldn't breed in anything else, so the cave stayed. Sometimes, you have to accomodate your fish.

Don't worry about the camera phone. I used a camera phone for the longest time here before I was able to afford a digital camera. I think the entire planted section of TFF did the dance of joy when I got the camera. The camera phone drove them nuts.

I've always loved cardinals. Enjoy them.

llj :)
