So last year I was tempted by Electric Blue Rams as my friend had got one for his Discus tank. Well, he bought two but one when downhill very quickly unfortunately. However, the remaining one made me want some but I was concerned as I know how difficult they can be to keep alive even in the right conditions. Well, I went to Barnsley with my mum back in June intending to just "Look but not touch(buy)" and well... I was a bit naughty XD I came home with my babies

They aren't Electric Blues as although I still love them I do like the Gold Rams a teensy bit more

Besides, the Electric Blues were £16.95 each whereas the Golds were £8 each or two for £14

I only had £30 and needed to get frozen food too(for both fish and snakes) so couldn't afford the Electric Blues anyway lol.

So, here's some photo's on my babies

They've bred twice but ate the eggs both times which I was expecting
smile.png
The first time they ate them within the hour and the second time they had them for 2 days before eating them

They are amazing at defending them but they obviously are a little inexperienced right now

Male.

When I first got him, in the bag and just after release.

Oh he is lol. When I want to take photo's of him I have to put my finger against the glass for him to see and flare at so he'll sit still. That doesn't work with the female unfortunately.

I love the red and gold rams but I am still fidgeting around with my tanks so them and my apistos will have to wait.

I have a lot of plans for this tank in the future when I can afford it including a full proper planted set-up with either a Luminaire or LED Lighting and proper plant substrate. However, this has to wait till I can afford it all :(

It's a nightmare aint it.

I have my new 400ltr coming tomora and have been looking at the price of filters and lighting......well lets just say it may be a few weeks until its up and running

hoping to find a used filter and just replace the inners instead of buying brand new.

I need to sort mine out at some point but I'm really low on any cash right now and so busy that sorting it out will take a while...

i have 4 kids so pennies don't stretch very far on a good week hahaha

will get there in the end though

good luck with the breeding, sounds like it wont be long now ;)

give me a shout when they manage it I may take a pair off you.

Ah, yeah. I have two fish tanks, 2 corn snakes, 3 cats and a bearded dragon XD And I'm on £15 a week

I'm hoping they'll breed and raise soon :) Will do, whereabouts in the UK are you?

Just outside Liverpool.

Blimey you have your hands full!!!!!

I would love a dragon but my husband says noooooo wayyyyyyy!!!

I breed kribensis and at the moment have around 30 little ones following mum round my main tank!!! wasn't expecting them to breed so soon as I had only had them 2 weeks next thing I had a million eggs!!!

Got to say though they are soooo cute :)

Ah, I have a mate in Liverpool lol. I'm in Sheffield

Yeah, I do. It's a lot. They are easy to look after, not too expensive to set-up and feed... What's doesn't he like?

I used to have a breeding pair of Pelvicachromis Suboccelatus Matadi's but they never raised fry and I had to get rid of them when I sold my 3ft tank :(
The babies for fish always are cute XD

he doesn't like anything really haha

Especially all the tanks everywhere think we may have role reversed somewhere along the line.

Ive taken to shipping stuff in while he is at work and then facing the consequences afterwards......im sure its supposed to be the other way round.

I've been trying to lull him into the idea that another tank is a good idea but he was having none of it ......so it arrives tomora hahaha.

Ah, my mums the same XD Yeah, I do still live with my mum but I have to pay for all my animals out the £15 a week I get from her so I never have any money. I've just managed to get to her to come round the to idea that I'll be picking up two new Corn Snakes in September at the Doncaster show haha!

I told her about them and she thought I was joking.. I've now paid £40 out of the £60 they are costing and I'm picking them up in September hehe.

She won't allow any more fish tanks though as they can't be stacked like vivariums can. My two 36x18 inch vivariums only take up a 36x18 inch space because they are stacked one on top of the other :).

You could always rack your tanks??

That's what I should do really save him moaning all the time haha

It doesn't help, my mum would still have a go "We're downsizing!!! You're not having more!!!!" XD
