I have promised that this will be the last tank we get (well, I promised that I would not increase the number of tanks in the house above 4 :p ).........didn't say anything about going bigger.........

Anyway......cycling was not a problem........as my Eheim had been running on my "main" tank in addition to the standard filtration for a couple of months....

...Introduced the Featherfin Syno to the tank after he snacked on my two Apple Snails.. :rip:

...Moved three Silver-tip Tetras and four Harleys to the tank just to keep him company (they weren't that happy with all the jostling the Platys gave them for every meal)...

...Have now introduced 4 convicts into the tank. It is only a 26 gallon, so in theory only two will stay.....just waiting for a breeding pair to sort themselves out.... :D

(Oh, and the Tetras and the Harleys will move into the lounge tank once the cons get a little larger).

This tank really hates the flash..........and the pictures just come out too orange....
so these are without flash....

Thanks for looking...... B)

Your tanks are really nice looking. I am looking to add some more features to ours as I recently got some small ciclids from a friend. Any ideas of some cover to add that is fairly inexpensive, please let me know. BTW my tank is a 50 gallon.

Sorry, don't know what the fern is ............it could well be Java fern........we are terrible really.......never check what the plant is......just see if it will "fit" in place.

This plant moved from my "Thin tank" as the plant we wanted to put in here was far too tall (see my other posts).......so we put that in the thin tank.....and moved this plant in to add colour and something for the fish to hide in/eat.

The big blue fish are really only small blue fish, but blown up... .. :hey:

They are Convict Cichlids. They are currently at around 1 inch long, but in theory will grow to around 4-6 inches. They are quite aggressive, particularly when spawning, so we will be keeping an eye on goings on in this tank.

I do try to do my tanks on a bit of a budget.

The sand was kids playsand (I was buying some more for the kids play area (that was my excuse) and had some over (in other words, I bought some for the tank and had some left for the children)).

The bogwood was from another of our tanks as it was getting a bit full of "bits"....the slate was from the car park of somewhere down in Devon (we always check in verges for real stone and it is obviously just broken up bits and bobs we liberate just a little). The little heaps of stones were from a building site somewhere.

Do you know the plant jflowers?

It seems to be growing small copies of itself on the end of its leaves.......complete with aerial (waterial  ) roots.........

Rip off the leaf ends with the small plants and let them float for a week or two, then attach them to wood or rocks with fishing line or elastic bands. I have used cotten in the past but it degrades too quickly some times, several strands may help, but I use elastic bands now and the plants attach after a couple of weeks.
