I want to get some bigger fish for my 60L tank.

It currently has:

3 leopard danio,
6 neon tetra,
1 Clown plec (only grows to 7cm).

I wanted to get some cichlids but from what I have read they need to be kept in a species tank. Is this true or are there certain cichlids that can be kept in a community tank without being too aggressive.

Any other suggestions? Maybe a couple of Gourami or something?

Ben

Hmmmm you could maybe keep a male krib in there. I have a male krib in my 160l tank and he's grand. I wouldn't add a female though because IME they are more aggressive (hense why I have a lone female krib!). You couldn't add a pair to that size tank IMO.

i think he nailed it when he said a krib cause just every other cichlid would hunt down your neons. Even the smallest cichlid those shell dweller ones are far to aggressive, your better off getting another tank for cichlids

LOL

I am sure you meant to say "she nailed it". ;)

There are other cichlids that may work such as rams. I have never kept rams but from what I read they are relitivley passive but are sensitive.

:)
