a rio 180 but am thinking maybe this tank is abit big for just shrimp's ( spare tank is running has unwanted fish in it at min came in a deal )

i just can't seem to think of a design....

any websites or anything to give u idea's on best way to design a tank? ideal of shrimps! ( i'm no good at designing anything! )

and how many could live happy in a rio 180? ( cherry and crystal shrimp )

bogwood and java moss is a must ( have large piece already and have some cocnonut caves with moss and java ferns two

i just don't know what to do? and as daft as it sounds no idea how to explain lol

I"m thinking an all shrimp tank with an artificial rock wall, fully planted with plants of varying heights and structure provided with drift wood, would look awesome. Once the shrimp bred up into sufficiant numbers the whole tank would end up being a hive of activity and the red of the cherry shrimp and the red and white (or black and white depending on what you have/ get) would really stand out.

I'd go for it :D .

How many? Hundreds a few months down the line most likely :). I'd love a shrimp tank that big. If you're mobile have run to paddock farm (next to croft park) and view their cherry tank, certainly gave me ideas, nicest one I've seen yet.

I love the idea of rock wall but i'd never beable to make one my self ( i'm unless at D-I-Y )

it will be planted for sure, shrimps i have are cherry, tiger, bamboo, amando in my main tank ( will be buying new shrimp for this tank tho )

i'm looking at tank right now and i don't know why but am think black background ( ain't got one at min ) black gravel ( has pee-gravel in right now ) something to bring plants and shrimps colour out, bogwood planted ( java moss ) , few of my marmo ball's 2 coconut caves have java moss/ferns, but i got a feeling would look bare

yeah i'll have to drop up there next week when i'm off work ( work nights so sleep in there opening hours and a good hour odd drive from me )

They have a large Shrimp tank at the Blue Planet. It must be around 200l and is packed full of moss and what looks like a 3d background (hard to see with all the moss). There are a few different species in there including Cherries and Ghost. It looks brilliant.

You will be ok as long as you do not have more than one species of Neocaridina in there so that they can not interbreed.

think i want darker but since am no good at diy buying is my only option lol

They are really good backgrounds. One of my LFS have them and although expensive, they look great. I used to have a polystrene one made by Marina in my 180. It only cost about £10 and it looked pretty good. Obviously the Juwel one would be better, but if your on a budget its another option.

It looks pretty good. I am sure that the shrimp would like it. They will love the moss and the wood. Just one point. The shrimp will show their colours better if you have a darker coloured substrate. I have black in mine. It might not be worth emptying the tank for this alone, but if you are thinking of siliconing a background on then it might be worth changing whilst it is empty anyway.

i'm waiting on my lfs to get more jet black gravel in, and everything is in there just to keep it wet and looking alright ( rather then empty wanna keep filter cycled ) has to be wreaked to catch sharks when someone takes them or there go lfs anyway, want black background ( or dark 3d background ) and black gravel it's a must

shrimp are probs weeks away yet, i have loads in other tank just notice baby ones running round but there a mix of 4 types and only want cherrys/csytal in this one so have to buy new blood in
