Yeah they live in some rivers hear in florida. I do no think they are bad. I bet they like it here better then Brazil. They can eat all the manatee poo they want.

you can see my girlfriends face, think she was scared of it lol!

Makes me a bit sad that fish stores sell these really big fish. I really feel they should not sell things that grown over 12 inches....

They shouldn't sell any that get over 8" really. Most people aren't equipped or prepared for anything bigger.

SamUK - The pleco you took a picture of is a Common Pleco, which is unfortunatly too common and get sold at 1 inch, when theyre just fry compared to what they get to and end up living and dieing in a 10 gallon tank
Beautiful fish if kept properly
do you mind if i use that picture for future reference to newbies who keep commons in small tanks?

DD

Beautiful big plecos! I have a 12" Common Pleco. You are right, they shouldn't be sold as easily as they are. I have the means and the will to rehouse my Pleco as many times as is necessary. I hate to think what happens to the unwanted ones. Trouble is they are so cheap to buy. I bought mine as a Bristlenose (!) and he cost £3.95. He has so far cost me £416 for larger tank. He is worth every penny to me. :)

And why is that? Having been to both places myself many times I'd prefer Brazil any day.
