A few weeks ago I bought some coontail off e-bay. Over the last month I've been adding male guppies into the 10 gallon. Today I noticed something - about 1 cm long - on my tank wall, near the heater. A bit freaked out 'cause it didn't look like brown algae or anything normal, I poked it with my net and it moved! Totally freaked out about it.

I googled some stuff and I think it is a cestoplanidae flatworm (polyclad). When I read that it's a predator I squished it out of my tank then cleaned the rim of my tank with a towel. I don't know if that was an okay thing to do (I'm relatively new to fishkeeping)

If I see one (a tiny one, cause according to some forms they get like 6 inches!) then does that mean I have an infestation? I added the coontail to my community tank but I haven't seen anything (it's 29 US gallons and lots of hiding places so it's unlikely I would notice if something was wrong)

I had a bit of a problem with flatworms in my 5 gallon shrimp tank (due to uneaten algae wafer getting under the gravel) but I cleared that out with a lot of water changes and that was about 15 days ago.

How worried should I be about this polyclad flatworm? (It's squished so I don't have a picture but it looks just like google images of them)

Oh, my guppy/shrimp tank has all normal parameters except a slightly elevated ammonia level.
