Hi, I currently have a 10g tank with a pair of Lamprologus Meleagris living in it. Would I also be able to house a pair of Lanprologus ocellatus in there with them or is that just asking for trouble? Failing that would I be able to add another female meleagris? Sorry if this is a dumb question but I am new to cichlids!

Thanks for your help

Lauren

I'm not familiar with Lamprologus Meleagris but I do know that different species of shell dwellers shouldn't be kept together in a small tank as they will have no room to create their own territories.
You could try introducing another female but you would be best removing your existing pair, rearranging the decor and then introduce all three fish together to minimise aggression.
This article may help:

Thank you for that, think I will follow your advise and have a re-arrange before introducing another female. Many thanks!
