i stripped one of my hongi females of her eggs/fry and when her fry were spat out there were about 10 normal coloured fry, and 4 or 5 white coloured ones with red eyes!?

Is this normal? i realise it may be albino form, although is it supposed to be like that? If somebody can find a pic for me of albino hongi, greatly appreciate it. thanks.

Interesting. From the little I know I would imagine both parents have prominent albino genes for that to happen. This type of thing isn't abnormal, but it isn't common. I don't think anybody's line bred an albino version of Hongi - not as far as I know anyway.

Hmm, im not too sure which one in the tank is the father :S, i only know which one is the mother.

So should i keep these fish with the other hongi? or seperate the albinos?

It was pretty weird seeing it as i have never bred something with an albino strain lol
