Lab In A Trance

every since i moved my tank about and moved my filter so the nozzle is pointing outwards my lab has been acting really strange, most of the day he is vertical to the side of it staring at the outlet, its almost like he's in a trance, then every now and again he'll peck at it like theres something there, ive taken a close look but i cant see anything....whats going on?
