My male and female kuhli loaches (Lily and Leo) have been exhibiting cute but strange behavior. Occasionally they will "doggy pile" each other randomley, wiggling and squirming over each other and it looks like they're trying to tie a knot in themselves, and then Leo will slide up to Lily and vibrate his tail against her side. Now, kuhlis are the most peaceful fish ever, and aren't aggressive. If anything, it looks like they're cuddling! They even "kissed" (their mouths touched) for a couple of seconds! I'll try to get a video, but in the meantime, anybody know what this behavior means ???

mine do this a lot! I have heard it could be breeding behaviour! They wrap around each other when breeding as far as I can tell

#41####, I almost had it on film, but they swam out of view so I started to walk to the other side of the tank but my camera clipped the tank edge and the sound scared them out of their embrace, followed by a few choice words from me..... :dunno:

Hahahahha!! Finally! Got the little devils :sly: The first one is a little hard to see, they took it into the darkness and you can't see it well :hey: Second one is better view, but not as intense as the others:

Yay! Kuhlii love!

I've heard that it is rare, but not impossible, for kuhliis to breed in aquariums.

If they are going to lay some eggs, the female's stomach should turn a bit green at first, and then they should lay the eggs among plantation...

How exiting! :3

I know right?!?!?!?!?!
I'm very excited, but my kuhlis are very young and not even 4 inches yet, so I think this is like high school dating for them :fun:
