I think around 8 gallons for her but only until you have fed her up a bit and she matures with eggs. Give her a fortnight on her own or move the male in to solitary so the aquarium becomes her territory and he has to court her.

Hello. Sorry, don't want to hijack this thread but I've got the same problem

Everytime the male sees the female, he goes for her. I've had them for about a week and thought he might settle down but hasn't. My tank is a 33gal and full of rocks and plants so there's quite a few hiding places but it seems to be getting out of hand. I found her today cowering under a leaf!

Should I make some more caves so she can hide more? I don't have the equipment to put the male in solitary :( Should I maybe take him back and exchange for another, hopefully less aggresive, male?

Hello again. Sorry to bump this up but don't want to clog the boards with a new thread.

I'm getting a bit worried about my female krib now.

She seems to have gone into hiding. I know that the females do this when they breed but I don't think they're mature enough for that (they're about 1.5-2inch long, is that too young?)

I've made new caves and she's holed under a rock and hasn't come out. Should I remove the male for her health? Or am I being a bit paranoid and this is normal behaviour?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks.
