Hi

It looks like two of my kribs have paired up and set up a nest in the root of the bogwood I have, female is popping her head in and out and male is charging anyone that comes near.

I'm going to just let nature take it's course, as I don't have another tank to specifically raise any fry in.

I have a couple of questions, should I see if the lfs will take the other male back, I did have two males and two females, but one of the females died about a month ago? The single male is being chased quite a lot by the paired up male. Don't want to end up with him being beaten to death.

I need to do the water change today/tomorrow on the tank, is that ok, or will it disturb them? I'm only planning on doing a 25% water change.

Thanks

Take the other male back. He will eventually be killed. If you are doing a water change. Don't gravel the vacum the gravel. Just slowly take out the water, and then add it slowly ( if they are new parent's, the water disturbances can cause them to eat the fry/eggs).

Brilliant, thanks for that, I wasn't sure about the water change, will do it carefully.

Just got to try and catch Mr Gooseberry now, he's already started hiding poor thing. He seems to be bearing the brunt of the protective father, the other fish just get a warning if they swim near, where as he gets chased wherever he is in the tank.

Thanks
