Hi everyone

Please can anyone give me some advice.

I have 2 kribs 1 male 1 female (was going to say a pair but they are now going through a stressful divorce!!)

They are in a 3ft tank with a pleco.

They have many caves, hiding places but the male is constantly harrassing the female and she is spending all her time as close to the filter as possible almost laying head down against it as if to be as inconspicios as possible.

The only time she comes out is too feed and then as soon as he realises she is out he chases her frantically until she is back by the filter.

I spoke to my lfs and they suggested getting another female.

What do you think? I do not want to get another and the same happening to her.

She is so healthy looking very red bellied but I know she cannot put up with this for long.

Please let me know any advice as I don't want any harm coming to her.

Thanks Guys

I'm a tanganikyan man myself... but I guess the same applies.

Definitely get another female, even a couple more would do it. I had the same/similar issue with my Neolamprologus Leleupi- I ended up with 3 females and a male, after having just a pair. He still gave chase, but it was distributed amongst the 3 females as opposed to just targeting one.

Thanks Rossyboy,

Today I have bought another female and he does not know who to pick on first!!!

The first female has been out more and in fact been playing up to him. (shimming side ways to him while her body is curled round a bit) well i presume she is flirting or is that threatening behaviour?

These are my first kribs i have owned and am finding them fascinating if a little worrying!!!

I just hope they all settle down.
