can anyone give me some advise my kribs have started preping to breed, they have dug 2 holes, 1 inside a upside down flowerpot and the other in a tunnel. this is prety smart stuff ive been watching them for days!! the question i have is that i want to keep some of the babies, i am going to buy a breeding trap/hatchery, do i put the babies inside on thier own or with mother or do i put the eggs in please help im new to this.

I would advise that you leave the babies with their parents. After the eggs have been laid and fertilised you could possibly remove the male. I hear that this will increase the amount of babies to survive. After they have consumed their yolk sac, feed them baby brine shrimp often and in little amounts. You could aslo try Liquifry but I don't like it much. Keep the water clean but try not to disturb the mother and fry a lot.
Bear in mind that this may be the Krib's first time and they may be inexperienced and eat the fry.

Leave them with the parent(s). Kribensis fry are very hardy and robust. You dont need to go all brine shrimp on them( you can if you want), but i ahve always fed my babies crushed up flakes( more than one brand). They will usually take care of the fry for 2 weeks( or until they spawn again). They are excellent parents and the sex ration depends on the ph. The lower the ph, the more females, the higher the ph, the more males. The best thing to do is to have a ph around 7. Good luck!!!!!!!!
