Hello everyone!

I am new here and new to fish keeping, my boyfriend used to work in fish shops so he knows what he's talking about and is teaching me well, I just though I'd get some other opinions.

I got my tank about a month ago for my birthday :) all the fish seem pretty happy, a couple have had 'new tank stress' type problems but all are ok now. There are quite a lot of plants which are growing really well and we've just added some bogwood today.

We went out a week or two ago and bought a pair of kribs, one male and one female, or so we thought. In the shop, the man was chasing them with the net a lot (he was new I think, but I wasn't happy) anyway they all lost all colour, and when we got home, we realised we had two females, introduced them to the tank and thought we'd get a male at a later date. A week later we did and he's been in since Saturday.

In that week though, one of the females has become extremely dominant and has an established territory, the male has been hiding behind the filter since I introduced him!

So, do I isolate the dominant female for a bit, see how the other two settle without her? Or should I isolate the male, feed him up a bit and then re-introduce him when he's stronger? Problem is, I worry that the move might kill him, so I think the best option is to isolate the dominant female.

I just wondered if anyone else had any opinions/experiences that might be of use?

Thanks :)

I think you have the right idea, I'd isolate the dominate female and see what happens. :good:

Thanks for replying :)

Since we set up and started to cycle the other tank the male has started to be a bit more adventurous, so we'll give it some time and see what happens! Hopefully a partnership'll be formed and then we'll know what to do properly :)
