Hey everyone.

Been watching my Kribs for past half hour now and there acting quite odd.

Firstly the female bends herself and vibrates near the male, I have also seen him do it twice.
They also keep going in a coconut cave but just kinda stay still looking out then one
comes out and the other follows.

The female also has gone on her side outside of the cave.

At one point the female was on the gravel outside the cave and the male was inside looking out.

Whats going on?

sound like they may be spawning.

They usually lay the eggs on a roof of a cave, so have frin trying to spot them :)

So in 4-5 day see if u can stop any babies in the cave

why does she keep going and sitting on Gravel outside cave while he's inside the cave?
they been acting up all day well for last 2 days but there going in cave alot more now.

Im sure I read an almost similar post earlier and the reply was that it was courtship

I have yet to see my kribs doing this - although my female has now got her purple belly so is probably spawning season for all!! ;)

oh..no way, I have a skull rather than a cave and I remember seeing the female swimming around the outside, and the male on the inside.....

*goes to inspect*

hehe go to look for some babies

the coconut cave does seem a real interest to mine, they have been like this for around 2 hours.
Would it be best to turn lights off?

no babies there yet lol!

It wouldnt suprise me though, I seem to have the most fertile tank in britain!

ive not seen any advice so far that says you need to - theyre egg layers, so dont know if that applies

Ive just switched mine off, but cos its late :p

Just keep things as normal.

if you cant see any eggs, in a few cays you may notice wiggelers on the floor of the cave, then a couple of days after than they start to come out and then start looking for food with the parents, whom will heard them around the tank.

Hopefully you don't have many nasty fish who will try to eat them.

Morning helterskelter!

im going to keep checking mine, am in the long process of getting my new tank set up which im going to be building caves in, so if i dont get any this time around, we might get them next time, although will keep an eye out for the wigglers!

Even if they fail, they should try again in a couple of weeks if their happy.

Even with fry they usually spawn again with in a month.

Hmm the heat seems to have died down today.
The female's tummy is slightly less red and there not going in cave together.
There still swimming around together but thats all.

Is this normal?

Sounds like courtship to me. Just keep up with water changes, good food, and wait. Thats all there is to it. When a female is vibrating her body in a " U " shape, she is basically saying to the male " HEY YOU! LOOK HOW BIG MY BELLY IS! IM VERY FERTILE, STOP BY MY ROOM TONIGHT! " That is what she is saying to him. So, you may see some fry soon!
