I'm new to this forum, and I was just wondering, if my Kribensis pair have babies, will my young Malawi cichlids go for them, leading to constant fighting between them and the parents? (I'm assuming there will be a lot of drama, but I'd like others opinion). I have a small breeding net, which has holes I believe baby Kribs won't be able to fit through, would it be wise to try and put the babies in that? With/without mummy/daddy?

Also I have a few cherry shrimp in another tank, I assume it's not a good idea to put them in a cichlid tank? Possibly a dumb question....

regards

The kribensis' natural diet consists mostly of small snails and crustaceans. They'd eat the red cherry shrimps within the first 10 seconds.

If the Malawi cichlids are miraculously not killing the kribensis to begin with (and I bet they will, once they mature and become territorial, so I hope you're considering a separate tank for the Malawis. They prefer different water conditions anyway), I think the kribs will be able to defend their fry.

Thanks for the advice, I will be seperating the Malawis away within the coming weeks, I understand that soon they will be big and a problem.
