I have a 900 litre tank with two pairs of Kribensis.
Four weeks ago one of the pairs bread and I have taken the fry out and put them in my quarantine tank.
Last week both the pairs in the tank breed.
So I now have 25 in the quarantine tank and about two lots of 25 in the main tank.
If I were to leave the babies in the main tank, what is thier chance of suvival, I have lots of dense foliage for them to hide, but I do have 3 large Angels and 2 large Silver sharks, amounst others.
Also, if I was able to have a good survival rate, could I keep more than 2 pairs?
I think these fish look great, but my concern is my current pairs are already teritorial, how would the current and the new fish react, if I were able to keep say 25?

I would just let them stay in the big tank, they wont all make it, but your pair will keep prouducing more and more. I would say you could EASILY fit 4 pairs in that tank, as it's HUGE.

How about if I decide to keep about 20 or even 30, would they be happy in the tank, I guess they would not pair up, but would they school?

OMFG Sorry I havent got a answer to your thread but is that the 900 litre in the wall?!?! need more pics!!

Yeah you could put 20-30 in there. The reason i said 4 pairs is ecause i assumed you would put other things in the tank. They prob wont school. They will pair off and make territorys and then breed.

Thanks for the advice, I have got other fish, but I'm a bit skint at the moment, so i thought I might just fill up with Kribensis.

Always happy to share pictures and talk about my tank.........
I have some older pictures on my profile, but I have just taken some recent pictures, albeit there not fantastic as it's a bit dark and I only have a camera phone, but you'll get the idea.
Any questions, let me know, like I say happy to talk about my tank.

What do you want to know?

My tank is 6ft by 2.5 Feet wide, by 2.5 feet high.
My long term plan is to migrate to marine, but I can't afford that yet.
You can't see in the picture, but I have a 4 foot sump tank under the main tank for the future.
The tank in the top left corner is my 80 litre resovior tank, under that is my 80 litre quarantine tank. Currently where my Kribensis fry are.
The resoviore is feed by RO and mains water via a ball valves.
Makes water changes simple and quick.
Under that is my Fluval FX5.
Lighting is 2 * 250w Halogen & 2 * 58w T5's
Put lots of shelving up for all my stuff, also need a ladder to get to top of tank.
I have an RO unit you can see top left, left of that is my PH monitor for Co2. The cyliner is under the stairs as I ran out of space.
For heating I have 2 * 350w external heaters, good investment.

Also, under the tank is my hifi gear, not an ideal placement, but it looks good!

Ask me question if you like.

WOW, WOW, WOW. I officially hate you( because you ahve a bigger, better, more awsome, sweet fish tank than me!!!!!!). Very Nice.

Sum total-how much did all that set you back if you don't mind me asking?

Beautiful tank, love the way you've put it all together.

Total cost is a bit of a tough one, I'll give it a go though

Main Tank and sump tank £700
Quarantine & Resoviour Tanks £100
T5's Gravel, Pump, Heater & Sundries £200
2 * 250W Halogen £100
RO £100
Co2 £200
Test Kits, Ladders, shelves, Medicines £100
Plumbing, Electrics & Materials to build in £100
Plants £75

Total £1,675

I don't think that is too bad, although I'm sure I've forgotten a few bits, Halogens were second hand, and I really looked around for best deals on the rest of the stuff.
My advice is build it slowly, it gives you the oppertunity to research each item and ensure you buy what's right for you at the best price.

I've spent a fair bit on fish, I've had three infections, each cost me a lot of fish, I've had NTD twice and white spot once, all three instances were when I strayed from my LFS, never again.......
Stocking levels are low at the moment, but I'm hoping to do fish swaps with my LFS whem my Kribensis fry are bigger.
