Hi

I have a 55 gallon tank with 6 juvenile angels (about 5 cm body diameter). It is reasonably heavily planted with lots of driftwood and caves.
My stats are:
pH 7.0
Hardness: about 8 or 9
Ammonia:0
Nitrite:0
Nitrates:15/20

I am looking to put some dwarf cichlids in to the tank and have a choice of either Subocellatus Kribs or Apistogramma Agassizi Flame. I was wondering what people would recommend as the best option? I do not want something that is likely to upset the angels too much but also want something that is prepared to stand up for itself if necessary!
Does anyone have any experience of keeping either of these species with angels?

Thanks!

PS This is my first ever post so excuse me if I have not done this right :look:

Unless u tlk like dis you have posted correctly! I've never owned the specific Apistogramma you mentioned, but I can say that you are more likely to have a productive tank environment with the Apistogramma than with the kribensis.

Why is that? Are the apistos more likely to get on with the angels?

They're the fire red variant of the agassizi. Very nice fish. I have a couple in a tank at the moment.

The Apistos are quite small and may get bullied by the angels.

Now I don't know much about kribs to be honest. Never been tempted.

Kribs tend to push their weight around more than your general Apisto. Apisto's are also naturally found in the Amazon River Basin along with the Angels and Discus. Given plenty of rock work to settle in and you will not have a problem. I can't say the same thing about kribs.

Kribs would end up breeding and killing your angels. Dont get me wrong i love kribs but in my opinion kribs belong in their own tank or with more hardy species. Good luck
