Kribensis Cichlid

we got 2 new cichlids yesterday along with some other fish and we have an ornament in the tank which is quite tall but has a hollow middle. one of the cichlids keeps hiding in the middle of the ornament but does come out for feeding and keeps a watch on whats going on. they both seem happy enough when swimming about the tank but she (think its the female) is getting a bit nippy when the corys swim up to take a look. is she just defending her territory or feeling a bit broody? theyve only been in a day so i wouldnt imagine she feels like breeding yet, but then again ive never kept cichlids before so dont really have much to go on

i find they are pretty peacefull when not breeding - they tend to chase more than bite my cories

on the whole, cories should not be house with cichlids. water parameters and aggression issues.
