Hi,
I have a kribensis cichlid and a brush nose pleco in a tank by themselves. The cichlid did have other tank mates but bullied them and now it's just him and the pleco. I thought that he would probably not live to long and then I would get more fish to be with the pleco. 3 years later its just the 2 of them. The tank is 48 liters. The other fish were social but he is definitely not. I have decided that having 2 fish in the tank only is a bit of a shame.
I would love some advise. I don't him that he would stress any added fish. I was wondering about moving him to a tank alone but don't know if that is a good idea? What size tank would he need?
Thanks

I would say 20 gallons for a single fish the size of a Krib, but I don'thave personal experience with them. I believe that they live about 5 years.

Are there lots of caves in this tank for both of them?
Is a larger tank an option to you?
You could put the fish up for rehoming on a site like aquarist-classifieds. Or check out an app called Band and see if theres a fish sale/swap group near you where you can offload either krib/pleco

Thank you for all the ideas. They have a cave but thinking about it it they would probably be happier with more hiding spaces. I will do that.
They never seem to mind each other. The pleco Is calm and the kirb seems to accept he would be outmatched.
I didn't know those places existed I will check them out for the kirb and have a think.
