Hi i have a 90l community tank with three guppies a siamese algae eater and some cherry shrimp, i would like to add kribensis, but i dont want to breed them and i dont want to risk any aggression. So my options are :

1 A pair of females, would they be ok together or would they mutually pair and become aggressive.
2 A pair of males, ditto
3 A single female or single male, would either one be ok on their own ?

Your advice would be much appreciated, i think i would prefer to keep the females as they are slightly more colourful.

Hi, kribs will attack guppies and shrimp, I know because mine never got on with my guppies. I would say that you would probably need to get rid of the fish you have now to be able to get even one krib, and you would be best with a single male. Females tend to be sightly more aggressive, I know they are brighter but as males mature they have a neon blue tint under their chin.
I'm sure your siamese algae eater will outgrow your tank, but you will need another oppinion on that point.

Cheers,
Paradise<3!

I would think 1 female would be okay however they are still territorial and are only aggressive when another fish enters it territory. They are nice fish but keep in mind, they spend most of their time in there cave and aren't too active. If you do add one, be sure to provide a cave or 2 being better to provide enough hiding places and that should keep them at ease a little. I'm not sure how she would do with the guppies though. If they get to close to her territory, she could cause some damage since guppies aren't the fastest swimmers and kribs are really quick.

Personally I wouldn't risk it. It all depends on the temperment of the krib, each one is different.

I would go with something less aggressive, slightly smaller and more active like an apistogramma of some sort. They are just as brightly colored.
