hi everyone :D a few weeks ago i bought a pair of adult kribs, put in a nice little house for them, and now i have fry! i don't know how old they are, but i htink they are about 4 - 5 days old. They have hatched, but not free swimming yet (seem to be feeding of their egg sacs still).

Parents are making me proud by doing such a great job at taking care of them  currently they are in a 25g with 4 danios, 1 guppy, 3 otos and 2 snails. It seems to be an okay set up :)

how for my question, when do i have to start feeding the fry? i assume they'll eat microworms right?

also, i feed the parents once a day with frozen bloodowrms (god how it chews a hole through my wallet), since i can't get them to eat anything else! i never knew kribs were such fussy eaters, but they wont' eat sinking shrimp ellets, they dont' eat flakes, they dont' eat cucumbers, they dont' eat frozen brine shrimp. Everything OTHER than bloodowroms will be immediately spit back out and never touched again :(

any ideas to how i can get them to take in some dry food? healthy as frozen may be, i'm going to be poor! :/

Horray for the fry! You should feed the fry when they can swim with the parents and can roam where ever they please... Iunno why your kribs arent eating... my make my flakes sink and they love it! I feed my fry crushed up freeze dried bloodworms and they're about this big now and starting to get the kribbish colours: ____ yep about that big

When you feed frozen bloodworms, I assume you let it thaw in a cup.

Try to soak the flakes in the the worm flavored water.

I'm surprised yours are that picky, mine are piggies.

I first fed my fry First Bites by Hikari, frozen Daphnia and smushed up frozen bloodworms.

I'm expecting my their second batch of fry any day now.

What brand flake do you feed them? :dunno:

Yes you are very smart cometcattle

EDIT: 400 POST WHEEEEEEEEE

try crushing up the flake a bit, mix it in with bloodworms and see if they eat it then. Then gradually increase the amount of flake over time before they will eat it by itself.

Another way would be to not feed them for say 4 or 5 days and then feed them flake, they will be hungry enough to eat it! But as you have fry maybe not a good idea!!

Also, whenever I feed flake to kribs I release it under the water's surface so it sinks, as they don't seem to like coming to the surface to eat too much....
