I have 4 Kribs, 2 of each sex. They seem to have separated into couples quite happily and dont bother each other much. Last month the Pair which includes the larger male had little krib babies. I may have missed this, as when i noticed, they only had two babies at about 5mm long, but both these dissapeared within the next two days. Where did they go?

Also, what is the usual amount of spots for a male Krib to have on his tail?

dont know about the spot question but

i knwo kribs are knowen to be good parents but the fry are probably stuck hiding somewhere or unfortunatly they got eaten by the other pair or the parents.

If the parents feel the fry are threatened, they will eat the fry, IME.

The number of spots vary, some have none, some have 1 - 3, it depends on the parents.

The male that I bred had no spots, but half the male fry had spots on their tails.

The number of spots varies from male to male. Some develop more as they mature some don't, its probably genetic but I haven't read anything about it. If the parents are inexperienced they can sometimes lose their fry, especially if another pair is competing in the same tank. I wouldn't suggest keeping two pairs of kribs in a tank together anyways as the females compete for the males and that can lead to jealousy and injury.
