Krib Pair Question

i have a male albino krib and a reg. female krib...in a 12 gall tank. Ive had them together for about over a month. She flirts with him, but he pays little attention to her.....Do you think they will ever spawn??? Also i didn't notice but my gravel is a little bigger than pea size gravel....will that be a problem???
