I think my female krib may have laid her eggs, the male is hiding in the plant that is in with them and the female looks thinner and is staying in the little plant pot which I have provided for a home for them. She only comes out for something to eat and then she is straight back into the pot.
Am I likely to be right in my assumption, I cannot see all the way into the pot but where I can see she is staying in the same area all the time which is to her left of the pot, this is the side I cannot see, if she has laid any eggs there I will not know for certain until they babies are swimming around.
Will keep you all posted.
How long does it take for the eggs to hatch if she has laid any and how long before I am likely to see any krib fry if this is the case.
Thanks
Kaz

will be about 5 days for the eggs to hatch and another 5 untill you see fry are brought out. Dont be tempted to try and have a look by moving the pot. Dont be upset if she ends up eating the eggs either.. first spawning isn't always successful. but it wont be long before they try again. hopefully you will be lucky.
good luck.

Thanks for the quick reply,
I would love to move the pot but have and will resist temptation, I really hope that this is not her first spawn so that I get chance to see baby kribs, she seems to be guarding something though.

Yes I bought them as a pair, they were the only 2 in the shop and they were in with loads of guppies, I think a previous owner may have given them to the store.
I have had them about 2 weeks. They have already done all the dancing, mating behaviour.
I will keep my fingers crossed and resist temptation on moving the pot to look and see.
