Hi,

I've read through the topics in the forum pages, and can't find the info I'm after.

For the first time, my Kribs have produced fry, and I'm very much enjoying watching them take care of their offspring.

One question I have is when is it best to move the fry on, either to the LFS or to a friends tank? Also, is their a time when it's best to seperate the fry from the parents?

Thanks :)

Yeas, its great watching a pair of kribs guarding their fry. One of the most rewarding aquarium moments when you first spot them

I wouldn't remove them before they stop shoaling with the parents. When the parents stop herding them, and they become a bit more independent they can be moved on.

They probably will be fine a bit earlier, but if there is no desperate reason to move them on, why do it before necessary?

Perhaps fish that are well looked after by their parents will in turn become better parents. I guess this can't be proven, but I like the idea!

Thanks for the info.

It's good to know that the parents shouldn't turn on the fry, and it's safe to leave them. I'll Move them on once they're bigger.
