Yesterday afternoon I noticed the female krib was spending a lot of time in the flower pot/cave. I looked in and saw LOTS of eggs on one side. There may be more but I can't see the top or the other side. This is very exciting as this pair has only been together for 5 or 6 days.

However, this morning, after feeding the congos (which I did on the opposite side of the tank), the female came out of the cave and spit out a mouthful of eggs. Needless to say the congos got a little treat.

Is this normal? I can still see a lot of eggs inside the cave.

I've read that it can take them a few times to learn the parenting thing. But I'm still curious why she removed some of the eggs from the cave.

were the eggs she spit out white? If they were these eggs could have been infected with fungus, but this is nothing to worry about because some fish know how to get rid of the eggs with funugus.

Yes, actually they did look white. If they were infected, will they harm the fish that ate them??
