Koroshiya's First Bubble Nest

I was so pleased to see my new betta make a bubble nest, at least I know he's really happy and healthy Here's my beautiful boy and his nest;

He was very defensive over it, he flared at anyone who went near the tank, since it's been gone he's been much more friendly, how often do bettas normally make nests? Or is it just a case of when they feel like it?

You must be proud! He's a handsome fella!
I know mine tend to build nests when they feel like it. Aragorn and Gandalf have always got a bubble nest somewhere in their tank and Boromir builds one every week or so. Legolas is my fussy one and can go weeks without building!

Mine make nests whn they have had the water changed usually, only one male makes them at the mo, the ones in filtered tanks dont make them. One of my girls makes mini nests, and another now dead made a huge nest once
