Does anybody here breed or own them? I know they're albinos and I've heard that the fry aren't as strong so I'd like some input on breeding them. Also does the sword on the male have to be more pronounced before he's old enough to breed? My male's sword has just started growing and both of the females don't have the dark spot or anything to show they're pregnant. They've been with 2 male koi swordtails and a large group of platys for about a month now at the store.

I have had 2 loads of fry from my single female koi sword..

I seem to get less numbers than a normal sword of similar size .. but havent noticed any difference in survival rates.

breeding size is the same as a normal sword ...

have never owned them myself but saw some in the LFS and they are beautiful, would of got a few but my tank is fully stocked

I say if your tank stats/readings are perfect at 0 and the fish are healthy and have had no deaths recently then i tell myself to go for it ;) I like the look of the pinneapple swords but the female guppies are top of my priority list as ive got at the mo 2 females and 2 males, with 1 juvi male and 3 juvi females but need some more!
