Don't see why not. if you have a tank big enough for balas, a clown knife should be fine. From when I know clown knives are nice enough unless their tank mates are able to fit in their (bigger than you might think) mouths.
I had one called Ernest once but I had to take him back as I couldn't get him to eat. Just as well really considering I had no clue. Ah, I just had a newbie flashback!!!
PS.. I am no authority, by any stretch so maybe ask in the Oddballs for wierdos people who keep oddities
Yeah thanks I just been reading about them and they can go with alot more than I thought. However, I don't think my lfs has alot of the fish compatible so I think I might just put about 6-8 Bala's in the pond with the knife fish.
HEY!! Might even be able to get a red tail catfish if I'm lucky enough my step-dad says! Or was he just getting my hopes up?
I live in the UK btw so would I be able to get one here?
Unless it's a purpose built, heated, indoor pond of astronomical proportions, or an outdoor pond which is covered (the cost of which would be in excess of thousands more than hundreds..) then I'd say keepng a RTC in a pond in the UK is pretty slim.
