Just after some advice on how to use this.

Have put in one dose of the treatment as described in the instructions, but the booklet is a bit rubbish and neglects to mention how long it would take to kill the snails, how many doses should be used, and how often it should be added to the water.

Can anyone help with this?

Please note it's the Copper Sulphate solution stuff that actually kills snails, and can be toxic to fish if overdosed. Also, does it kill snail eggs?

Thanks.

You would really be better off getting some kind of loach to eat the snails, just hate adding chemicals to a tank if another way can be found, you could end up creating more trouble than worth, unless of course the snails are getting out of hand and breeding like no tomorrow which can also be toxic for the fish hmmm

Not sure about it killing the eggs, however it'll most likely kill them when they hatch.

What fish do you have in the tank? Copper can be harmful to some.. especially the scaleless fish and shrimps.

Also, keep an eye on the ammonia levels... all those snails dying and decaying could be nasty if you dont clean them out

Got Corys, Neon Tetras, Glass Catfish, and a Betta in the tank. Put in the treatment last night and everyone still seems happy.

Can't really accomodate Loaches to eat the snails due to the size of the tank. Will keep an eye on Ammonia levels but the fish have survived water quality problems before. They seem quite hardy!

Did have a massive infestation, but got a lot out using a trap. Just want to kill off the rest of them to keep the problem away for good. Should be able to remove the majority of the bodies.

Just need to know how long the treatment takes, whether to add more, and when I can consider it complete and carry out a water change and put the carbon filter back in.

Keep a close eye to the GlassCats, their very sensitive to most things and can just seem to die for no reason, if you can maybe setup a spare "Hospital" or Holiday Camp  kind of tank for future of course, I did something like that, was the Mrs idea to setup a "Holiday" tank she calls it with some of those silly ornaments in but it works when we either have to treat one fish or deal with the main tank.. Just an idea of course.
