Spirulina based foods are best for most Mbuna in the long run as many are primarily herbivores.

I have not had problems with occasional tropical flake feeding as a supplement to a spirulina based diet.

i dropped a few of my plecs algae wafers in for them for tonight

got some frozen veggie food and spirulina sticks..will prolly order some flake food off ebay too

I guess you originally got "generic" cichlid food? This is usually intended for the omnivorous to carnivorous American cichlids and the African river cichlids whose primary diet in the wild is usually worms, larvae and crustaceans.
