Has anyone hatched these?
Or kept them?

Its really hard to find info on these guys!
What are their requirements?
What kind of environment do they live in?
Any info would be great!

What are the bigger species?

I saw that they lay their eggs in the trees of roots, so if you want to breed them keep them in a low light tank with wads of green yarn and nothing else but a sponge filter. They do get moldy after awhile so you have to replace them every once in awhile. Theyre jumpers, males more colorful and bigger, if just keeping them they prefer a planted tank, room temp is okay, life span in captivity usually 2 years. Hope i helped!

This is some more info on them.

What do you plan on getting, specifically?

The non-american killifish and kin usually likes shallow warm water with pebbles or fine sand as substrate. Lots of live food are a must to get them to breed successfully.

They are generally aggressive so keeping them in a species tank is ideal. There certain exceptions to some species though.

Some salt added to their water is beneficial but not to the point that it turns brackish. Captive bred killifish normally does well with neutral to alkaline water
