I went to the main fish market in Mexico city yesterday, the one where all the fish importers are. My 'regular' fish stand had F. gardneris, both males and females. Still young, but they had started to colour up, so enough to be able to make out males and females. I bought 2 pairs of them. Unfortunately I could not tell the strain.
Then, another store had N. rachovii, unfortunately only males, but they looked gorgeous! The best thing is that he told me that next week he would be getting eggersi blue and I asked him to make sure he would be getting both males and females, after explaining him the difference between the 2. He loved to talk to me about fish (said most people don't know anything and don't care)and would do his best.
Then another chap in the store where they sold the gardneris said that there was a guy out there selling bivitatum. So it looks like we are taking off here with killies. I have also seen somebody 'preselling' gardneris on the internet mercadolibre (the latin version of EBay). Preselling in the sense that he had eggs that were hatching. Tricky business, but I am happy that we are getting there!
