Are the supposed to completly submerge themselves under the substrate (mine being gravel).

Mine looked as if he was strugeling to move so i moved a piece of gravel and he turned around and under he goes.

That doesn't sound right. They do sometimes in sand (but only a little), but gravel would be too harsh for them Do you have any fish he might consider a predator ?

Hmm well I have some Black Widow tetras and some Neon tetras, and a small ancistrus, but it may be because he was only put in the tank this morning, one of the 3 loaches is swiming around fast and happily.

Btw there are 3 of the loaches all between 4 and 5 cm.

What are the chances of these breeding providing there are lots of hiding places.

Bogwood question : How long does it need to soak for?

Loaches may crawl under one or two pieces of large stone, and my try to bury them selves in gravel without much luck. keep an eye on him i`ve seen a few of them doing it...

And it depends on the size of the piece of wood, i soaked my 2 pieces of mopani for the best part of 2 weeks before adding them to my tank and they still released a little tannis into the watter (all cleared up with some fresh carbon in the filter ;) )

simply stick it in a bucket and change the water every day untill when you tip the water out it looks clear

I heard that it just depends on whether or not you like the colour it changes your water to.

indeed the tannis dosent harm your fish in any way its present in the water theat most tropical fish come from...

However if you want a pink aquarium its up to you...

my tank went a nice pink colour....

looked great with the nice blue background
