I was looking at fish on Liveaquaria.com and was confused. When it was giving ideal water conditions, I was curious as to what "KH" stood for?
Anyone?

Read here... for an explanation of KH. Basically it reflects the 'hardness' of your water i.e. the amount of dissolved minerals. This acts as a buffer for pH (in other words stops massive swings from acidic to alkaline) which makes fish happier! Some fish prefer 'soft' acidic water whilst others like 'hard' alkaline water. This is only a very general rule so don't sue me if I'm wrong!
This is only a VERY general explanation and I'm sure there are a zillion people on here that can explain it better!![]()
But there you go.... Hope it helps!
All the best,
DB.
