Hi

How do you all keep the glass clean on the outside of the aquarium? Obviously you cannot use glass cleaner in a spray bottle as there is a good chance it will get into the aquarium.

What about the pre-packed wipes you can get, can I use these? If not any other tips?

I just wipe the outside of my tank with a dampened cloth then with a dry one.
I guess you could use the pre-packed wipes, but I wouldn't try anything that has cleaning ingredients or anything inside it... I'm just to scared that it might get into the water...

I use windowlene, as long as the tank is covered the spray cannot get into the tank. Ive used it for years and never had any problems.

Thanks Guys

Anyone ever used Vineger?

I used to work at a small chip shop restauarant place and they used to use Vinegar and paper to get grease smears off the windows.

I use windowlene as well. I use vinegar to clean the lights and areas with limescale.

I use furniture polish. I spray it onto a cloth before wiping (minimises the chance of it getting in the tank) and then it keeps the glass a bit static free for a while and stops the dust getting on it. I find glass cleaners leave smears!!!

I used regular old windex. I just make sure to spray it near the bottom of the tank and then wipe upwards. I've been using it for years and have never gotten any in the tank. You just have to be careful. :D

I have always used spray cleaners and if your worried about contamination spray it on the cloth first away from the tank then clean the tank with it.
