platies aren't that agressive so i would say add 2 or 3 but 6 could be alittle to much

why not go all females?
i am using my 35 litre tank as female only tank
just needed to know if i could add some more red well orange really platies to the 95 litre tank as they were in my 35 litre tank but the female platies are fit to burst again and i think they need there own space lol
i am happier knowing that the females are on their own for a while i know i cant re introduce as there will be to many males to females

Hi Maria29tart! You're right in that you'll find some smart folks here willing to help. Not sure if I'm part of that crowd, but I will help as much as I can. So your tank is roughly 20-25 gallons? Do you know how big all of your fish will get when full size? I only mention that because overcrowding can lead to a lot of problems. What kind of fry are they? The new males shouldn't bother the fry as long as your fry are bigger than their mouths.

yes none of my fish should grow over 2 inches with the exception of the the dwarf gouramis. the fry are blue platy fry about 3 weeks to a month old they were born in this tank so i have left them in there, the red platies are about an inch long slightly bigger than the 2 blue mickey mouse males, does this matter?

They canbe kept in lota of numbers, aggression only happens with male guppies as they nip eachothers fins, platys have rounded tails so it is difficult for the males to attack.

To put it shortly you will be fine, its just better to keep them with females as they are much happier.

Just something to keep in mind...that's all. Keep an extra close eye on your water quality when you add them for any changes. Let us know what happens. ^_^
