hi I have a large angelfish in one tank and two smaller angelfish in another.
I wish to put the larger one in with the other two, would this be ok?

to try and give you some idea of sizes
the large angel is about the size of a hand
the smallest one is the size of a £2 coin($1coin)

here are pics of all three
(two smaller ones)

It is *completely* hit or miss with angels, but I'd say things look good b/c the 2 angels that are in the established tank are smaller, so adding in one, larger, angel, he'd be more likely to fend off the initial aggression from the other 2.

I would say to give it a shot, but be prepared that it might not work...

Once they reach maturity, size has no bearing on the aggressivness of angels. You can give it a try, I would. It may help to rearrange the tank the 2 angels are in before introducing the 1 larger fish. This changes any territories they may have established.

When you are sizing your angels, do you mean including the fins? Size of angels are determined by body size, without the fins.

I have had angels that live in harmony and angels that when matured pair up and attack the other angels relentlessly. HIT OR MISS!

Those angels are beautiful! I used to have two large male angels, Seraph and Cherub, and they barely noticed when I added two juvies to the aquarium though they were too busy fighting to ever notice any fish for that matter. The mature angel may be aggressive to the juvies or it may ignore them, it is a real gamble. Some suggestions would be rearange the tank to decor to break up any territories or you might want to buy another couple angels so that if the angel doesn't take kindly to the newcomers, it's aggression can be spread over a number fish instead of it concentrated on just two fish.

I added 2 mid saized angels to my large adult angel when I set up my new tank..things are going great !!!

but with all fish it is hit of miss...moving things around inthe tank will help and just watch them for awhile and see if the get along...mine are like a family now...and I have all males ( I think ?? )

good luck

ok thanks for the replys
as I want more plants in the tank with the two angels
re-arranging it is not a problem, also adding a couple
more smallish one is not out of the question too.
BTW the tank is 62 gallons (just incase anyone starts moaning :p )

and Tolak, yes I was refering to size EXcluding fins :)

Nice size angels! The reason I was wondering is thay you can pretty much determine age by size as long as the proper growing conditions are met. You've been around & know how to care for fish, if that is body size, they are definitely adults. Juvies rarely show signs of aggression, if the 3 angels start to scuffle, get a few smaller ones, that will help distract the aggressive fish or fishes. I did that with a pair of weak spawning marbles that tended to tear into anything angel looking in a 65. They went in a 55 with 5 adults & 20 nickel size juvies until a friend had cycled another tank, they didn't know who to harass, so they didn't bother anyone.

You have plenty of room for more in that tank, so that does leave you some options.

Hi, I just put in a baby I mean baby Half Black Angel with my full grown Angel. Everything is on the good right now, but like mentioned one never knows with Angels and I am keeping a watchful eye on these two.

I added the large one yesterday morning, and apart from a bit of "flaring"
all three have settled down and are quite happy with each other
I'll be watching for any signs of aggression.
At least I have two other tanks suitable for them if things turn sour.
