right, what is the possibility of being able to keep a stergeon in a tank?
yes we all no the enormeous size these grow too.
but maybe one of the smaller species? shovelnose?

say for instance, would it be possible to house a small stergeon, bought from very young, in a tank for a year or so before it gets too big?
im not saying i want to buy a huge tank either......

i have always had a big passion for these fish and if the possibilities were there to keep one, i would love too.....

so please tell me if it would be possible && also how fast can they grow.

many thanks

I've just googled Shovelnose sturgeon and it said it can reach 100cm which is over 3ft, it would need a pond or if you where keeping it indoors a indoor pond. I dont think keeping it in a tank would be viable.

Sorry but in a word no.

They are a large messy pond fish and are simply not suitable for aquarium conditions.

Maybe you could get a smaller plec, bristlenose?

Indoor pond is really the only way to house these fish realistically need a pond.
