Ok after 8 days it looks like my cycle is really kicking in now. It took seven days to process about 5ppm of amonia, then yesterday I added more amonia (back upto about 5ppm) and it is already gone today! So it looks like the bacteria for that is blooming!

My nitrites have been rising for a while but I'm worried about adding too much amonia if it is processing too quickly and getting such a big spike that it over doses the nitrite bacteria - but i realise that the amonia bacteria still needs feeding.

Strangely my Nitrates have been rising from the start too (perhaps down to either Cycle or the plants on bogwood that i have added from mature tanks?) and are now very high.

So do i just keep adding the amonia daily and keep my fingers crossed?
Here are my stats:

edit - dont seem to be able to attach the image of my stats but here is a breif of last two days:

Am: 0.5 (+40 drops of amm) - 5ppm
Nitrites: 1.6
Nitrates: not tested

Todays:

amm: 0
Nitrites: 2+
Nitrates: 100+!

Don't worry about current nitrite and nitrate levels. Just keep dosing your ammonia up to 5ppm every day and stick at it. Takes about 2-3 weeks for the nitrites to go on average but it does depend on a whole bunch of other factors.
