Hi Everyone,

I'm considering purchasing a Juwel Trigon 190 and would like to know the stocking levels.

its 190 litres or 41.8 uk gallons. It comes with a Juwel filter but i do have an eheim ecco 2324 filter. (not too keen on the eheim because the pipes get stuff inside and it seam to do much - maybe i didn't have correct media)

Thanks

Martyn

completely depends what sort of fish you want to stock, the standard guide to use is 1 inch of fish per gallon. so you can have about 42 inches of fish in there. There's so many exceptions to the rules though that's it's nigh on impossible to judge just based on that. Have you got any fish in mind?

I've already got a 110l tank with:

3 Rainbow fish (10cm when fully grown)
3 Sword Tails (12 cm with fully grown)
1 Dwaf Gourami (5cm when fully grown)
5 Corydoras (5 cm when fully grown)

I'm gonna get 2-3 rainbow fish now because i've found out they should be in a bigger group. Just don't want the tank to look empty.

The guide is one inch of adult size fish per gallon and only really applies to small slim bodied fish under 3 inches. Cichlids etc need more like 10 inches per gallon. If you like your rainbows go with more of them and you could have more than 5 corys in a tank that size, maybe a bristlenose plec for algae control. there are loads of options really.
